Nominations Open for '2012 Peter Bennett Award'
The Peter Bennett Award is awarded for individual service making an outstanding contribution to the Canadian municipal IT Community and to the MISA/ASIM Canada Mission and Objectives, while exemplifying Peter Bennett's spirit of demonstrated leadership and working "beyond the call" with humour and humanity. The MISA Ontario 2012 Conference will be held from May 27-30 in Hamilton, ON. This year's theme is 'TransITion - Building the Future'. MISA & URISA Ontario Hosting Joint Workshop
MISA Ontario and URISA Ontario Chapter have partnered to host a 2012 Spring Event on Wednesday April 11th and Thursday April 12th in Sault Ste. Marie. This event will provide a wonderful opportunity to network with your peers, introduce new and exciting innovations and ideas, share experiences and collaborate on solutions.
This is the first call for papers for the Spring Event. If you have an achievement or an interesting project you think the rest of Northern Ontario's Municipal IT and Spatial Communities should know about, then this is the forum for you! Please include with all abstracts a working title, a text body of 100 words in length and submit to the Programs Committee at programs@urisaoc.ca by Feb. 10.
Registration for this event will open later in February.

2011 MISA Awards Submissions Available
Submissions received for the 2011 MISA Awards have been posted to the Share Point directory under the '2011 MISA Awards' folder and are available for MISA Ontario members to download. Submissions covered a variety of topics and came from many different municipalities. The submissions contain detailed overviews of new initiatives and contribute to the sharing of best practices and ideas exchange.
